Lately

Like I said in my last post, our anniversary was just recently, so here are a few pictures from the celebrations the weekend before our anniversary!

"Ohhh.." I think he was excited..:)

Joel in his new BYU polo for work!:)

Joel got me a rotary cutter and a board!:)
We went to Hopdoddy's for burgers and they were sooo good!
Found this at a store in downtown Austin..and yes, this is a men's shirt..yikes!!

The other day we went in to wake Siena up and this is how she was sleeping.
funny little girl had her hands clasped together.
She was so proud of her smoothie mustache!

On the actual day of our anniversary we went and got milkshakes from Mighty Fine Burgers and Fries

Joel asked for a hug and he got a 5 minute hug! those are the best. We love our sweet little girl!

Last weekend while garage saling we found this glider for $10! (It does have both arm rests..joel had just already taken it off). We recovered it and just sold it on craigslist!  Love it!

The finished product!(it;s a light pink on the sides..kind of hard to tell from the pictures)

It turned out great! Took some imagination, but it came together nicely!:)

Happy anniversary to us!

2 years ago today I married my best friend. To say that I have the best husband would be an understatement.  Tonight when Joel got home from work, he could tell that I was stressed, so what did he do? He whirlwind cleaned the entire house (including doing all the dishes...there was A LOTTT, sanitizing all the countertops and table, put away all siena's toys and vacuumed the entire house). It didn't stop there though, he bathed Siena, got her ready for bed and put her little shoes on AND put her to bed, singing her a song and all! Happy anniversary to me! I love my Joel! He's such a wonderful husband and a great father! Siena just adores him! Here is to 2 years love and many more to come!

1 yr picture, and an animal shadow box

I finally got around to taking Siena's 1 year pictures yesterday..lol

I love her cheesy smile!

Joel got to come home for lunch today! Siena loved play-time with daddy!

This is how Siena wanted to take her nap today, I went to pick her up after saying that it was nap time and she immediately grabbed piglet and her little texture book..I was able to pry the book from her hands, but piglet went with her.lol

This is my project I worked on today. I found the elephant and giraffe plastic animals at a garage sale on Saturday and then just spray painted them pink.  I then used twine to make the tree (I hot glued it down and tied some knots in it to add some interest in the "branches"). I love how it turned out!

Latest Projects/Siena's room

Joel and I have had some projects recently. We put new hardware on our "coffee table" toy chest thing, we have gotten closer to having Siena's room finished, and painted/fixed up our new entertainment center.

Here are the pictures of Siena's room(there are still a few things I would like to do/get for her room, but overall it's looking pretty good)

If you look in the pictures of her room you'll see this scallop edged shelf that is now pink hanging on her wall (we got it at a garage sale for 3 bucks).

These are the spice racks from Ikea that we got and painted gray

I recovered this rocker..it originally had a nasty animal print

I plan on hanging a few more things over the changing table, just haven't found those things yet..

Here is the dresser that we got at a garage sale for 5 bucks! It is how our new entertainment center!:)
We had something in mind that we wanted to do because I had seen this one on a website a while ago.  Click here for the link.

First we took out the top 2 drawers. Then we went to Home Depot and bought a board then had them cut it into 2 pieces that would fit inside and lay accross the gap from where the top drawers were. I also got a rounded edge stake that I had them just cut off the pointy part.  This worked to cover the little gap that was between the 2 boards.
Next we went home, installed the new shelf, sanded everything down, and got right to painting!
We did like 5 coats of paint on this sucker, but we love it!

Yes, we will be moving our pictures up, just hasn't happened yet..

Last but not least, here are a pair of shoes that got a little re-vamping:

Hope you're doing well!

A weekend in Houston

Last weekend we traveled over to Houston to have Siena's 12 month appointment and to visit Joel's parents. Here are some of the fun photos from that trip.

We stopped off in Brenham at the Blue Bell factory on our way!:)

I think she liked it..

Siena always has her ankles crossed. Cute.

Siena got to open birthday presents from Gma and Gpa Reichert

 We went out to eat

And last but not least, we went and got Siena's ears pierced. We have been talking about doing it for a while, but never fully convinced ourselves, then we saw how much it would cost and that pretty much decided it for us. However, Gma and Gpa Reichert gave us money for Siena's bday for us to go get her ears pierced, so then we had no excuses!
As you can maybe tell by this next picture, she was not so happy about being held down.  This picture was only after they cleaned her ears off..they didn't even poke her yet..
Ok ,this is where it gets heartbreaking.  Poor thing was NOT happy about being held down! Unfortunately we had just taken her in to get her vaccinations the day before so she knew that being held down meant not-so-good things..so she was ANGRY to say the least..poor thing
This next picture is right after having them pierced.  As soon as Joel was allowed to let go of her, she calmed down.
As you can tell, she still looked pretty sad, but especially once she had her bottle, she was just fine.

Still felt bad, but they look so darn cute on her, I'm glad we went ahead and did it. Besides, like I said once she was "set-free" she stopped crying, and by the time we were out to the car, she was smiling again.:)

We also got to go to the temple with Joel's parents on Saturday. Since we don't live near a temple anymore, it was so great to get to go again!
