Happy Birthday Dad, We Miss You!

Today, January 27th, is my dad's birthday. He passed away a few months ago. It's been hard not having him around and knowing that I can't just call him up or send him a text anytime I want. I really miss texts he'd send to check in. He had such a funny texting style too. Joel and I always used to laugh about how he was a one-word kinda texter. I'd get a text: "hey!" then a few seconds later another one: "how's it going?" I miss those.

My grandma sent me a framed picture of Siena and my dad that I put up in her room. She loves looking at it and telling me that that is her with grandpa Kyle. :)

For my own records I went ahead and added in his obituary:

Somehow I seem to have lost a ton of my pictures from before Joel and I were married, and unfortunately these were the only ones I could find.

This was from a trip Dallin and I made out to Miami to visit him, Sean and Ang:
These next pictures are from Thanksgiving 2012

And here are a few of my pictures from the funeral. The service was really nice and there were some great stories told. Some new, some old, but all great. Lots that made you laugh, then cry then laugh again. It's going to be hard in the future getting all my uncles together and not have you there to help join in the "brother bashes" that go on. I love how somehow each day you guys were together was usually designated as let's make fun of ___ day!lol Lots of great and funny stories get told. You guys are a lot of fun all together. I do know, that someday we'll get to see you all together again though! I love you Dad!
Uncle Jared helping Cody pick out a flower to have:

Sean, Steph, Dallin and I. It was good getting to see Sean again. It's been too long!
It was nice having my mom there to help support us. She also was a great help in playing the piano for Steph and I to sing. We only had a day to put it together, so it was really nice having a pianist that we'd sung many times before with.
Rachel and Weston also came to support. It was great seeing them. (p.s. if you can't tell, we're all 3 pregnant in this picture..:))
This was from Joel and I's wedding. My dad and Gma:

Here is an awesome voicemail that my sister found on her phone a few days after he passed away. It was an accidental butt dial voicemail and has him singing along with the radio. It so perfectly captures him. It's a great reminder of his carefree way.:) p.s. warning though: it made me smile, laugh, then cry..

Happy birthday Dad! Love and miss you!
